Yeast or Candida is a fungus on the skin or mucous membranes.  Symptoms typically are a rash, white or yellow discharge, or itching depending on where it is located on the body.   Excessive yeast can overgrow in warm or humid conditions, weak immune systems, as well as frequent use of antibiotics, can attribute to overgrowth of yeast and possible infection.

Most commonly caused by various Candida species, typically Candida albicans, however, there are over 20 species. Mild and infrequent episodes are clear up within 3-7 days with the use of antifungal medication.
